PENOBSCOT - Lena M. Gray, 90, died July 19, 1999, at a
Penobscot nursing home. She was born May 18, 1909, in
Orland, the daughter of James and Eva (Blaisdell) Pickering.
She is survived by one daughter, Eva Colson and her
husband, Edward of Penobscot; one son, Henry Montgomery
of Orland; one sister, Louise Sanborn of Bucksport; seven
grandchildren, Timothy Leach, Richard Leach and Paul
Leach, all of Penobscot, Jeffrey Leach of Thorndike,
Elizabeth Colson of Penobscot, Dianne Mead of Bayfield,
Colo. and James Montgomery of Ellsworth;13
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; several
nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two
husbands,
Vernon Montgomery and Earle Gray; one son,
John Montgomery; two daughters-in-law, Jeanette (Soper)
Montgomery and Donna (Hutchins) Montgomery; two
grandsons, Delbert Leach and Harold Montgomery; several
brothers and sisters. Graveside service were held 1:30 p.m.
Thursday, July 22, at the Hillside Cemetery, Penobscot, with
Pastor Peter Remick, officiating. Arrangements by
Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 14 Elm St., Bucksport.
